The Raven and the Runaway prologue (part 1)

The prologue to my first story of the Raven and the Runaway series. Story 1 will be called Library of the Lost.

Summary:

Hidden in places forgotten by man, lie the gates of the fae. Magical doorways which lead to fairytale lands of fantasy.

On his journey through these realms, Jacob van Brandensteyn saves the mysterious witch Fenric from being locked away inside a puppet-theatre. Why is Fenric hiding his magic from the adventurer? And what happens when Jacob's boundless curiosity leads them astray in the maze that are the faerie gates?
